Our story
Frigdex began in 1975 in Tanuku, in the West Godavari region of Andhra Pradesh, a part of the state known for its rice fields and the Andhra Sugars factory. Our central operations are still here.
Over the years Frigdex has become a familiar name for commercial cooling appliances across the state. We grew in three steps:
- Service. We started by repairing and maintaining cooling equipment.
- Manufacturing. We began making our own appliances.
- Dealerships and distribution. We reached more towns through dealers and distributors.
Today Frigdex is a single source for commercial cooling: branded products, customised solutions, and service and repair support. We serve both businesses and individual customers.
Our approach is simple. Higher volumes and lower margins let us reach more people, and that is how we have reached every corner of Andhra Pradesh.
Our founder
Ravi Shankar Gaaru, known to everyone as “Pantulu Gaaru”, is the founder of Frigdex. He began as a door-to-door mechanic and built the business step by step into a respected name in commercial cooling.
He relied on hard work, experience and bold decisions at the right moments, never on shortcuts.

The next generation
Kartik, the founder's son, represents the second generation of the business. He is following his father's path while making the work smarter: simplifying demanding tasks with automation and using AI to improve how we operate.
